Body Double
You Can't Believe Everything You See.
Director Brian De Palma (The Untouchables, Scarface) casts a spell of obsession, seduction and murder. Lonely actor Jake Scully house-sits an upscale apartment. He enjoys its view of a sensual neighbor... until he accidentally spies her shocking death. But in a labyrinth of erotic deception, nothing is what it seems - including the identity of the femme fatale! To unlock the mystery, Jake must lure the woman who holds the key: Melanie Griffith in her Golden Globe-nominated role (1985, Best Supporting Actress) as the sexy Holly Body.

Although this is not the post modern masterpiece hailed by some, Brian de Palma's Body Double is still worth seeing by any film buff. The voyeuristic camera work really helps the viewer to put himself in the protagonist's skin. The movie's setting could have never been any other place but Hollywood, and the backdrop nothing other than a B movie: only in Tinseltown can the suspension of disbelief be successfully sustained. The final scene features reservoirs and dogs. Go figure.Good enough - Coconut_Willy
This is certainly not my favorite Brian DePalma movie even though it is quite typical of his tendency to pay homage to his obvious idol; Hitchcock. When I saw this movie originally, I thought it was great but it's a film that does not lend itself well to repeated viewing. I thought it was a bit too long with a few scenes that really slowed down the development. The storyline is clever and makes a lot of sense in the end but it does drag a bit in the middle. The cast is quite good with a number of familiar faces doing a fine acting job with just enough dialogue and interesting characters. DePalma even shot a number of scenes with no dialogue at all, a typical Hitchcock trademark. The sets and locations are excellent, the soundtrack is great as well as the camera work. Overall, a very good movie, highly recommended if you have never seen it. Good extras on the DVD also.think again - chasnto
Although this is an older movie, I still love it today. The plot thickens right from the start and you don't even know it. But you soon will realize you've been sucked into this adventure of the peeping tom actor's nightmarish few days.
Of course towards the end, the plot twists and turns and the ending was satisfying, particularly seeing the lead singer from "Frankie Goes To Hollywood" sing live'ish.
Holly played by Melanie Griffith does a great job and looks great in her role too.
For me, out of 10, I give this one between a 7 - 7.5
