Rebecca Carlson (Madonna) is a powerful woman. Intelligent, successful and breathtakingly beautiful, she can bring almost any man to his knees. And that's exactly where she wants them. But when a night of sexual abandon ends in the death of a prominent businessman, Rebecca finds herself on trial for murder. Now it's up to her attorney (Dafoe) to prove her innocence... but when he becomes entangled in her web of erotic game playing, his body of evidence begins to contain as many curves as his client.

The story is OK. So are the actors. Quite an exotic movie especially the sex scene in the garage. The film is attracted because of Madonna. Her acting is so so but her sex scene is very erotic. It is amused a superstar like her will do those erotic scene. This is the most exotic film she did.stick to singing - bigdozer
I personally don't dislike Madonna but as an actress I think she should stick to her fortait which is singing an leave the acting to others although I must admit I was very surprised as to her role in this movie faor it was a little better than what I expected with her in the movie, of course William Defoe is good as usual.Madonna's answer to Basic Instinct - cathyottawa
Watching this movie, you get the feeling Madonna really really wished she was in Basic Instinct.
As a campy movie, I'd agree with Gregburnscds, this can be kinda fun. If you're looking to view it as a real sexy thriller, you'll cringe at how bad it is.
Not surprising I guess, given Madonna's track record with the critics. Madonna is capable of turning in a decent performance (remember A League of Their Own? Desperately Seeking Susan?), but she doesn't do it here. She's at her overacting, self-conscience worst.
If you really need to see Madonna naked, pick this up; otherwise, skip it.
