Born Yesterday
Judy Holliday won the 1950 Best Actress Oscar for her brilliant and funny role as Billie Dawn, the "dumb blonde" girlfriend of Harry Brock (Broderick Crawford), a corrupt millionaire junk dealer. Brock, a man with social ambitions and a willingness to do anything to fulfill them, is embarrassed by Billie's crass behavior and lack of social sophistication. So he arranges for her to take a crash course in "culture" from a handsome, young journalist (William Holden). Billie blossoms under his kind tutelage and becomes increasingly aware of her role as a pawn in Brock's crooked business deals. Brock is surprised and outraged when Billie suddenly refuses to cooperate any longer. This is classic comedy with an unforgettable performance.

Excellent classic - palmtree
This one was really funny. I loved the main characters, especially the girl. Her character changed so much by the end of the movie. A sweet romance story. What a classic. You won't be disappointed. Good for the whole family, and not too dated. Must see!The art of being blond - Sylvia2Emily
Judy Holiday and William Holden star in one of the most original and fantastic comedies of the 1950's, where a poorly educated 'dumb blond' is turned in to a feminist icon and becomes the perfect stereotype breaker. Judy Holiday's performance is spectacular and Oscar worthy. Born Yesterday is really a wonderful comedy that makes you revalue prejudices.A Sparkling Romantic Comedy - SkyWatcher
This movie has really aged well. The story may not be fresh anymore, but manages to be endearing thanks to wonderful performances and a great script. Judy Holliday delivers a brilliant performance that is both funny and touching, and William Holden has never been more charmimg. It's a lovely movie, and well worth seeing.
