What a remarkable film from start to finish! No other film has captured the incredible grace of man as the movie 'Caligula' has. When I have the blues and I need to restore my faith in mankind, I simply give Caligula a viewing and then I go back to breathing easy and my lust for life is once again rejuvenated! Caligula is, in its own way, a beatiful movie with some porn, excellent McDowell, and rather crazy script, reportedly modified after its original version was written by Vidal and Brass. A must-to-watch for all borred by crappy Holywood productions and interested in non-mainstream movies.Caligula = ordure - Basile
Comment qualifier ce film qui a tant fait couler d'encre à sa sortie en 1979? Il s'agit d'un très mauvais péplum de série Z qui cherche à provoquer, mais qui est plus ridicule que choquant. Malcolm McDowell cabotine à l'excès dans le rôle titre et plusieurs grands acteurs (Peter O'Toole, John Gielgud, Helen Mirren) sont gaspillés dans cette production. À voir malgré tout si on a le goût de se payer un film trash.
