Any Resemblance Is Purely Hysterical!
When an uptight executive (George Segal) discovers he has a long-lost black son (Denzel Washington), his tidy world goes hopelessly and hilariously awry in this "zany" (Screen International) and wickedly funny comedy.

Very funny moments - Ilsa
The movie is set up 30 years ago when people in Hollywood were looking at black and white differently. It has hilarious moments as Segal was and is very good comedian. His sex and family life, his carrier and his friendships are analyzed and reported in very funny way. It is a very pleasant comedy and the Segal- Washington couple are very well matched.Could've been, should've been - nelsonlonigan
This movie had it's moments, but I think it missed the mark. It was trying to be something more, but ended up being less. Racism is a delicate and complicated subject, and it's very easy to mess up a movie about it. Roger Porter is supposed to be doing a caricature of a caricature, but too much time is dedicated to this, and the point ends up getting lost. It's unfortunate. With smarter editing and writing, I think the movie could've been brilliant, but it isn't.Such cheap humour. - SKITZYMITZY
I didn't like this. But as I read the reviews, both of them, I get it. But at whose expense? I didn't like Vivian's attitude, "Why give them false hope, it seems so cruel. When will we stop owing and be even..." But check out the cars and that carphone. My my!
The movie was so demeaning. Denzel plays sambo, but he keeps his cool. Take it with a grain of salt.
