Entertaining, but Could've been Better - ShawnConnery
Yes, it had the potential for greatness, but instead became good. The idea is great, though the script, acting, and even action sequences are decent (not great, not bad...just decent). Plus, some parts were unbelievable (happens to find a automobile when he needs it, escapes from a building completely surrounded by police with no explanation, bad guys shoot from close range, etc.) I have to admit that it was entertaining, and I was happy with the fact that there are action movies out there, such as this one, that do not fall back on kissing, sex or nudity to keep them going. Yep, it was enjoyable.Average film but well done - Coconut_Willy
This is definitely one of those films that could have been so much better. The basic concept of the movie is quite good and fits in the genre of plausible science-fiction that I usually like but it's developed in such a way that it turns out to be a rather ordinary chase film where you basically get a neverending series of stunts and very little substance. Too bad because they had a good idea (although not particularily original)and a very good cast. Morgan Freeman as a bad guy is not too bad as well as some of his associates, Keanu Reeves does his usual action man thing and Rachel Weisz makes a pretty good damsel in distress. Overall though, the storyline turns into the easy excesses of non-stop action scenes and becomes predictable very quickly. The sets and locations are very good, the soundtrack is pleasant and the camera work is appropriate. If you like Keanu Reeves in another Speed-like movie, this one's for you as there are lots of stunts and they're all pretty well made. If you prefer more depth story-wise, you might be disappointed.Stinker! - TheBear
First rate cast given a third rate script. Not even Morgan Freeman was able to save this endless litany of Hollywood cliches. The FBI is portrayed as a group of dumb and blind clowns. The bad guys can't shoot. The heroine's makeup is unfailing. You get the picture.
