Chisum
"A real gem worth treasuring." -William Wolf, CUE
Chisum showcases John Wayne in the twilight of his remarkable 200+ film career. As John Chisum, a real-life cattle king determined to protect his empire against a land-grabbing developer (Forrest Tucker). Wayne's no-nonsense persona snugly fits this lively reworking of the events of New Mexico's 1878 Lincoln County War.
"Directed in fine sagebrush style by Andrew V. McLaglen and beautifully photographed by William H. Clothier" (The Warner Bros. Story), Chisum is the kind of sweeping, brawling Western that made Wayne endure as a star.

John Wayne Rules! - bwod
In one of his last appearances, John Wayne portrays a wealthy rancher, who has struggled for the honest, little guy all his life. But now he must face a crooked and ruthless competitor, struggling to keep his land and his integrity.
Based on a real incident that occured during the late 1870's, "The Lincoln County War", pits townsfolk against each other, with hired guns and outlaws brought in to intimidate people.
Some famous characters get involved in this struggle for good over evil.
The historical accuracy of this screenplay, coupled with its excellent stars and production values, makes this oater well worth seeing. Thumbs up!Great Western - Colbourne
Chisum has always been one of my favourite John Wayne movies. It truly is a Classic. It does a fantastic job describing how the "Old West" is changing. It is story about changing times and how some things still remain the same intertwined with a fantastic characters, a love triangle, comedy and action.
