Great Family Movie - MVBF
Set in 1950s America, 'Corrina, Corinna' is the story of a Manny (Liota) who hires Corrina (Goldberg) to help with the housework and take care of his little girl Molly after his wife dies. As Manny struggles with his grief and goes off to work every day, Corrina struggles to take care of Molly, who has stopped speaking since her mother died. Both father and daughter were unprepared for the warmth Corrina would bring to the family, and they struggle with the societal lines that are crossed as they get closer to each other. It's at times tragically sad, and at others, touchingly funny. It's rated PG and is a great movie to teach children about valuing people as whole persons, without the brutal violence of some other movies of the time.corrina is delightful as adorable - movie_goer
Whoopi brings magic and warmth to a Taboo story. widowed father (ray liotta) needs a full time nanny, thats where whoopi fits in. Corrina, Corrina is the first movie that brought depth and a touching storyline for inter-racial couples.Both have charisma and chemistry. this movie is sultry for the eyes as is for the ears. i love the choice in music and actors. its too bad you don't see alot of work with

I've seen this movie a few times and enjoy it everytime. It's a good family movie. I love Ray Liotta, he's great in all the movies he does. The only thing I thought wasn't very believable was Ray Liotta and Whoopi Goldberg's relationship. The relationship between Manny Singer and Corrina Washington was sweet and I'm glad the relationship resulted in the way it did, I just don't see the actors pulling it off so well. Maybe a better combination of actors would have played into the storyline more.
Still, overall I like this movie and will watch again and again!
