Cousins
Ted Danson and Isabella Rossellini star in this madly-spinning marriage-go-round. Danson and Rossellini play cousins-by-marriage who pretend to be lovers in order to punish their philandering spouses (Sean Young, William Petersen). Instead, the make-believe lovers walk directly into cupids line of fire - with consequences that are both hilarious and heartwarming. The humor, romance and sheer joy of life are always on target in Cousins, a "charming, funny and intelligent comedy" (Siskel & Ebert).

This movie is a romantic comedy. Ted Danson (Larry) and Isabella Rossellini (Maria) make a fine pair. Their spouses are carrying on an affair and to spite that Larry and Maria pretend to be in love which in fact becomes a reality towards the end of the film. Larry, Larry's son, Maria and her daughter get together and live together and open an eating place which is what they wanted. It was a nice happy ending for Larry and Maria who were not happy in their marriages.Improves with time - kate1
This one started out as a real dozer... we actually stopped watching it after the first 15 minutes. But then, for some reason (possibly Ted Danson's smile), we tried it again and were hooked.
The plot has an interesting twist: a couple who are avoiding infidelity, while faking it to punish their respective cheating spouses. But the chemistry of the pair -- low-key and very gentle -- captivates.
The only downer is the very predictable ending -- even if you ARE rooting for it!
A nice, warm movie with no big surprises.Chick Flick...Boring! - Miltons_Review
This is not even a good chick flick! The acting is sub-par. I wanted to see William Petersen but was unimpressed and disapointed. His character was very reminisent of "To Live and Die in L.A." I was hoping for something different from him. I know he could do better. This movie did not hold my attention. It's boring and was only good for background noise while I did laundry!
