Review - Crime & Punishment - maw-
Such a wonderful book, and yet this is almost unwatchable. First of all, Raskolnikov is supposed to be a young student. Who do they cast? John Hurt, who - correct me if I'm wrong - was in his 40s or 50s at the time this was done, and looks every one of those years. He also does not portray Raskolnikov's madness believably for me. Comes across as manic is all. Don't waste your time.Forgetable - Chucky
Not what I expected. Literally. It was my fault. I judged this book by its cover thinking that it was part of the Time life series by the same name--ya got me lol. I guess the initial dissapointment clouded my usual point of view so this review may not be your experience should you rent it. I found it to be boring and predictable, couldn't really finish it really. I think your money is better spent elsewhere.
