Pretty tense stuff - Beak
An unusual submarine movie with very high stakes, ie the threat of nuclear war.
A battle hardened Captain is determined to launch a nuclear war with incomplete orders. Denzel plays his XO who attempts to stop him.
Mixed in with this already tense plot is the presence of Russian attack submarines who intermittantly try to destroy the American missile sub.
All and all a good action film.

Permission granted... well what can i say about this movie except for the fact that it was amazing and that putting denzel washington and gene hackmen together was genius.
the sleeper actor in this film is viggo mortensen(wrong spelling) as weaps he was great the whole story of the film was great mutany on the sub when the officers dissagree on what to do i definitly reccomend this filmBruckheimer's usual movie recipe - Cricri7
Crimson Tide is your usual Bruckheimer movie...action/good actors/fast pace/flash...all roled up in one! You can say of his movies that they are not masterpieces but you can't say that they don't entertain you.
He always has good front actors, in this case here Denzel and Gene Hackman, and excellent supporting actors, in this case here George Dzundza and James Gandolfini before The Sopranos, that can deliver the cliché lines that make up a Bruckheimer movie: "We are not here to practice democracy but to preserve it" being only of a handful of clichés!
All that said...if you want a movie to entertain you, it fits the bill perfectly!
