After reading other viewers reviews I can see both sides. My wife and I found this erotic and tragic all at the same time. I found Geller (Kathryn) very captivating being the master manipulater toying with ego and desires of the step brother she got when her parent married Sebastion's parent (so no blood line between them). They come up with a high stakes bet where he wins Kathryn's body for sex and if he loses he loses his classic car. The total trick of this movie is the "fore-play" but truely has only one sex scene. If you have an open mind about sex then give this movie a try. If you take movies seriously then don't.quite good - xian16
this is a fine movie. although certainly not for everyone, especialy traditionalist catholics, it has many good parts in it. sebastian, the main character, tries to increase his reputation by having sexual intercourse with the next years headmasters daughter, only to fall in love with her, and die stoping her from being hit by a car.

This is the infamous movie that brought Ryan Phillippes and Reese witherspoon chemistry on screen and love off screen. Sarah Michelle Geller is devious,back stabbing and coniving.Daring her half brother to bet her sexaulity on him if he won and his car if he lost.Phillippes Character is put to the test of his ego (Lady's man) all he has to do is loose Witherspoon's virginity.
this isn't like any other teen movie
the volume of sex, lust and persasion makes it adult content.
