D.O.A. (1988)
"Two thumbs up for the stylish D.O.A." - Siskel & Ebert
Time. It's running out for Dexter Cornell (Dennis Quaid). He has just 24 hours to find out who poisoned him... and why. In his bizarre and deadly search, everyone has a secret. Everyone is a suspect. Even the woman (Meg Ryan) who loves him. Directed by Rocky Morton and Annabel Jankel, creators of superstar "Max Headroom," D.O.A. pulsates with explosive action and sizzling performances by Quaid and Ryan, two people who find themselves suddenly living on the edge. It's a night on the run, filled with fear, danger... and passion.

Quid and Ryan do film noir - eoguy
This is a good film with a interesting, if somewhat flawed, suspense plot. If you like motivated twists in story lines and ones that make sense - this movie will be a winner. Be sure not to miss the first minute of the movie else you will miss one of the unique perspectives this movie creates. You'll quickly forget this film was made almost twenty years ago. The chemistry between the leads is a little murky, but it's still acceptable. But the final twist is a little disapointing, given the very solid start to the storyline.
It's hard to imagine that this film was made almost twenty years ago. The final product stands the test of time, and also represents a period in the '80s when film noir received a brief resurrection.
