Daddy Day Care
"Eddie Murphy and his comedy cohorts deliver fun for the whole family." -George Pennacchio, KABC-TV, Los Angeles
Daddy Day Care is the hilarious comedy about kids ruling the roost! When ad execs Charlie (Eddie Murphy-Dr. Dolittle, Shrek) and Phil (TV's Curb Your Enthusiasm's Jeff Garlin) lose their jobs trying to sell a veggie-flavored breakfast cereal, their wives head off to work. But when they realize they can't afford to keep their kids at the fancy Chapman Academy run by evil Miss Haridan (The Addams Family's Anjelica Huston), Charlie and Phil become the proprietors of Daddy Day Care. Little do these two Mr. Moms realize that they have just begun their own adventures in babysitting! Daddy Day Care's excellent supporting cast includes Steve Zahn (National Security), Regina King (Legally Blond 2: Red, White and Blonde) and Kevin Nealon (Anger Management).

Not as good as Imagine That, but whatever. - moviegenius
This was a reasonably funny family comedy. I mean, it wasn't great or anything, but it was okay. I think that I grew a little tiresome of the annoying kids, but I laughed a bit. I think, though, that this is not as good as the other Eddie Murphy kids flick Imagine That. That was a funny movie. But, if you want to see all of Eddie Murphy's other films like Showtime, this is a good start for the kiddies. Grown ups, just sit back and laugh occasionally.Fun Family Viewing - revsdd
Having already seen the disastrous sequel "Daddy Day Camp" I thought I owed it to myself to see where that came from. Certainly compared to the sequel, this is a masterpiece. Compared to any other movie I've seen it's a pleasant piece of family fun, amusing at times and rather silly most of the time. Eddie Murphy was well cast, I thought, as Charlie Hinton - a marketing exec who loses his job and opens a day care to make ends meet, while his wife goes out to work. This was certainly a different kind of role for Murphy - very family friendly, and he pulled it off well, as did Jeff Garlin as his partner Phil and Steve Zahn as Marvin. The movie contained a couple of ridiculous caricatures, which always turn me off - especially Angelica Huston as the evil pre-school director Mrs. Harridan and Kevin Nealon as Charlie's old boss Bruce, but in fairness the caricatures here were not as over the top as the pathetic ones in "Day Camp," and this movie thankfully avoided for the most part the toilet humour of the sequel. Unlike many movies that feature children in significant roles, there really wasn't a single one who came across as irritating, and there's even an interesting (and I would say accurate) reflection on reverse sexism, as the initial reaction to the "Daddy Day Camp" from parents was that any man who wanted to run a day camp must be - well - not trustworthy. Frankly, I'm surprised this spawned a sequel. It really wasn't that good, but for a movie that you can watch without worrying whether you're 5 year old might come into the room while it's on, it's not bad viewing.baby-sitting not like pie - movie_goer
Great entertainment, fun for the whole family. Eddie Murphy has got his groove back from major flops, partnered dad is Jeff Garlin and buddie steve Zahn. All 3 become daddy daycare for the community childern. After losing jobs at a large corporation. Starting off rough all men realise that children can be difficult but with time and appreciation everything begins to fit in place, the only thorn is his rival Angelica Huston whos a prestigus child developer for an up scale pre-school. No sweat Murphy's got tricks up his sleeve...
