Dave
Real-life Washington politicos and pundits join the fun as Dave uses ordinary-guy savvy to deal with the extraordinary responsibilities of the Oval Office.
Kevin Kline and Sigourney Weaver star in this box-office winner about an uncanny Presidential lookalike recruited as a momentary stand-in for America's Chief Executive. However, things don't turn out exactly as planned and Dave finds himself continuing the masquerade indefinitely.

This is a feel good movie with a bit of romance, humour, great acting, some good and some bad singing. The president suffers a stroke but for political advancement, a look-a-like life loving person Dave is asked to stand in for the president for one occasion. He soon finds out his engagement is for an indefinite amount of time. Kevin Klein is wonderful in this movie as Dave. With lots to learn, and awkward at first, Dave learns quickly and becomes a better president. The First Lady, noticing a change in her husband's personality, finally confronts him. They forge a partnership to help the American people. Needless to say, they form a warm bond. But Dave's presidency has to come to an end. And so it does in a surpising matter. My husband and I have watched this movie at least 4 times, and almost every time, a tear or two is shed. The Man Who Would Be President - FilmJunkie
A great political comedy about a man who is the spitting image of the President and thus takes his place when the President is taken ill so as not to upset the nation, but Dave ends up serving for longer than intended and making huge policy changes.
The cast is great, the movie is very funny. Why isn't Kevin Kline doing more stuff like this these days?A favourite of mine - Superdave
The Prisoner of Zenda. Moon over Parador. The Man in the Iron Mask. A look-alike impersonates a national leader. This idea has been used before. Heck, Robert Heinlein won the Hugo award almost 60 years ago with this old gag in his book Double Star.
But Kevin Kline gives it wide-eyed freshness as a likeable nobody who finds himself playing the U.S. president and romancing the first lady. And the audience gets an insider's view of Washington's corridors of power and the schemers who make their living there.
It's a far-fetched piece of whimsy, but the treatment is clever, adult, romantic and sharply satirical and the result is a winning confection of a film with beautiful comedic timing.
