Helen and Madeline hate each other. Madeline is married to Ernest, who is having an affair with Helen. Both women rely on Ernest for plastic surgery for their continued good looks, so when Madeline finds a cure for ageing, Helen gets it too. It isn't until both become immortal that they realise that 'life' will never be the same again.

I love this movie. It is a deeply dark comedy that will make you laugh out loud with hillarity. This movie is an instant classic and should be on the shelves of all movie lovers. A really f*cked up idea for a movie. What if women were so obsessed with their looks that they chose eternal life over aging? Goldie Hawn and Meryl Streep answer with their send-up of beauty in the age of the twenty-something.
Though the film sometimes gets unnecessarily gruesome, overall it is a wicked funny and dark comedy about love and appearance.

This is another one of those absolutely absurd films that should have immediately been written off, but that you just can't help but love. It is corny, but it is so funny that you will instantly forgive its ridiculous short comings. A dead bang on satirical comment on the search for eternal youth, Death becomes her descends often into slapstick farce, but Streep and Hawn are so good at it that you forgive them. Bottom Line: A guilty pleasure after a long string of "ART" movies
