Double Jeopardy
Murder isn't always a crime.
The chase is on! Ashley Judd shines in this unstoppable, untoppable box-office smash that co-stars Tommy Lee Jones in his "best performance since The Fugitive."
Judd plays Libby Parsons, who discovers that the husband she's convicted of murdering staged his own "death" and framed her for the crime. Released on parole, she skips town to find him - and that puts parole officer Travis Lehman (Jones) on her trail. Packed with more crowd-pleasing excitement than several movies put together, Double Jeopardy delivers "lots of action and spine-tingling suspense from start to finish."

This is a great movie. I thought the premise was interesting and there is some pretty great action! Libby is a badas** woman, she is tough and I think she does what every woman would do if in the same situation. I would recommend this movie for sure. It is a great thriller.Captivating - Poet
I was on the edge of my seat while I watched this movie last night. It is the kind of deal where you have to suspend disbelief a little and play along, but, when the story is compelling and the actors carry it all so well, it is easier to do just that.
Ashley Judd and Tommy Lee Jones really shine in this one. Loved it!Enteraining movie, extremely well done - Porkchop
DOUBLE JEOPARDY is, overall, an extremely enteraining movie, with interesting
characters, a credible story, great suspense throughout the movie,
very unpredictable as the story unfolds, with sharp photography,
and beautiful filming locations.
Bruce Greenwood plays the life of a playboy, who has either a
fetish or developed a "special scam" in dealing with paintings, that
he unloads among a select crowd of social elite, finding ways to
take advantage of situations for his own personal, insidious and
dispicable gain. To this end, Greenwood's character commits multiple
murders, misleads police investigations, bilks large amount of cash
from his rich niche of victims. The only thing that could come
in his way, ands top him, is Ashley Judd, her maternal instict
for her young child and Tommy Lee Jones's gumshoe skills.
Here, Judd partly reprises her role as a female juvenile
delinquent that is framed for the murder of Greendwood's character.
Much like in the other movie, KISS THE GIRLS, Judd digs deep within
herself to build physical endurance, strength and construct a plan to
survive her ordeal, to maintain a hope of some kind of future
for herself, after being put through a horrible legal ordeal.
As said, the photography is extremely well done, showing beautiful
natural scenery (the ferry...), the festivities of Mardi Gras, the
historical neighborhoods of New Orleans, and many other very interesting
and attractive filming spots.
In sum, although successful in the aspects described above, is
also extremely mainstream, as it contains nothing controversial, or
of shock value, that often characterizes Ashley Judd's other movies.
This is another aspect that will please the public...the lack of
controversy in the story.
However, the public, should learn to vary their tastes, such as Judd's
movies the Locust's physically disabled teenager, or High Crimes's cold
