Dressed To Kill
"A sustained work of terror -- elegant, sensual, erotic, bloody!" -Los Angeles Times
Writer/Director Brian De Palma "maintains a fever pitch from start to finish" (Leonard Maltin) with this "steamily libidinous and extremely bloody thriller" (Newsweek)! Starring Michael Caine, Angie Dickinson and Nancy Allen (in a Golden Globe-nominated performance), this taut psycho-sexual chiller is a razor-sharp tale of passion, madness and murder that's as "scary as the devil [with] suspense to spare" (Playboy)!
Fashionable Manhattan therapist Dr. Robert Elliott (Caine) faces the most terrifying moment of his life, when a psychotic killer begins attacking the women in his life (Dickinson & Allen) - with a straight razor stolen from his office. Desperate to find the murderer before anyone else is hurt, Elliott is soon drawn into a dark and disturbing world of chilling desires. And as the doctor edges closer to the terrible truth, he finds himself lost in a provocative and deadly maze of obsession, deviance and deceit - where the most harmless erotic fantasies... can become the most deadly sexual nightmares!

Dressed to Kill is a great sleezy thriller. Its violent, exploitative and shameless.....oh and great entertainment. The story begins with a bored housewife and....I won't spoil it but its a fantastic thriller. It totally rips off Psycho but I don't care.
Dressed to Kill is a real surprise and is a movie I can always rewatch. The great middle ports from the chase in the museum to the bloodly elevator encounter is chilling stuff. Great fun.3 Stars - bleuorchid21
Having known the ending for a few years to this movie but having never seen it, I really wanted to check it out.
The movie follows a sexually unsatisfied housewife who visits a psychiatrist frequently and shortly after having a random hookup with a stranger she meets at a museum, she is murdered by one of his patients.
The movie then follows then young woman who saw the killer, as the killer then targets her.
Again, having known who the killer is slightly ruined the film for me, since there wasn't much suspense, but it was clear from the beginning who it was.
Aside from that, the movie did have a few scenes with no dialogue that ran a little long (the museum scene and the aftermath of the hookup where Kate learns that she just made a huge mistake), but they work in the context of the film.Did We See the Same Movie? - woodman95
I wrote this mainly to add another perspective to the mostly negative reviews shown here. I saw this movie many years ago, and yet still think of it sometimes upon entering an occupied elevator late at night - to be quite frank, this movie scared the pants off of me. A "younger" Michael Caine is terrific in this movie as he is in most.
If you're looking for a good 'semi oldie but goodie', try this flick. I believe most viewers will quite enjoy the ride.
