Empires: Egypt's Golden Empire
PBS DVD video
Forged by conquest, and ruled by intimidation and diplomacy, Egypt's New Kingdom was built by men and women of astonishing ambition. For nearly 500 years (1560 B.C. to 1080 B.C.), the pharaohs of Egypt struggled to shape the science, culture, and politics of the ancient world. In the process, they would create the first great empire in history. Cities, temples, tombs, art, education, and technology-all were propelled to new heights. Through remarkably well preserved letters and personal accounts, Egypt's Golden Empire brings to life the passion and human drama of an age that would inspire countless generations to come. From Ahmose and Hatshepsut to Tutankhamen and Ramesses the Great, this series reveals with poignant clarity the hopes and dreams of the powerful pharaohs and ordinary citizens who created Egypt's Golden Empire.

Great 3-part documentary by PBS. It's of a noticeably higher quality than most documentaries, and is very well done with good-quality video, and great narration and voice-acting.
This doc focuses on the New Kingdom, and thankfully repeats little from the other docs I've seen so far. Definitely re-watchable, as it is one of the best here.Great Documentary - Nicolas_Gogotsis
This documentary was excellent, i love the way PBS made this series, and each one is a jem! I've watched it 4 times already and each time i'm glued to the screen! A must for those history lovers out there. Those who like it also rent The Greeks with Liam Nelson! I love these!
