Face/Off
In Order To Trap Him, He Must Become Him.
FBI Special Agent Sean Archer (Travolta) tries to find a biological weapon placed in Los Angeles by a sadistic terrorist-for-hire and criminal mastermind named Castor Troy (Cage). Archer has hunted Troy for the last 8 years, and is consumed by revenge because Troy is responsible for the death of Archer's son. To do this, Archer must "borrow" Troy's face using a surgical procedure to go undercover as Troy, but things go wrong when Troy assumes the identity of Archer.

I simply do love this movie as well. This was my first introduction to John Woo, and I can see why he has his reputation. The action scenes are like works of art, with excellent timing and slo-motions at just the right moments. It's like watching a well choreographed ballet with bullets flying everywhere and non-stop action.
Also, another reason to love this movie is the acting of the leads. Both Nicholas Cage and John Travolta are excellent in this movie. Both have shown in there careers that they are capable of playing lovable good guys as well as arrogant hated bad guys. In this movie both actors get to show both sides of themselves thanks to the plot device of switching faces.
All in all, one of my favourite action movies from the 90's.The perfect popcorn movie! - sinic
Lets face it (I know, horrible pun), this movie won't win any award for it's story or it's acting, but it is one of the best action movies made in a long time. The action scenes are great and moves the story along perfectly all the way to the final climax. Cage playing Travola and vice versa is worth the price of admission alone as the over the top imitiations are really funny to watch. I loved this movie from start to finish!Face it, its good - Dario
It seems science fiction is almost science fact. At one point I would guess that the writers never thought something like this could ever happen, so they wrote the script a little over the top and then had "Mr. Over the top" John Woo direct it. It is a visually stunning movie and it is acted very well, but the plot is a little sophmoric and empty at times and leaves a lot to your imagination, ie. how does he get from the oil rig back to the world? But overall its a good movie to see at least once.
