Fast Times At Ridgemont High
Fast Times at Ridgemont High, directed by Amy Heckerling (Clueless), is simply a modern cult classic. First-time screenwriter Cameron Crowe (Jerry Maguire), went undercover as a high school student and came back with the straight dope on sex, drugs, and rock 'n' roll, while capturing some of the most memorable screen characters ever. They're all here, from Stacy (Jennifer Jason Leigh) and Linda's (Phoebe Cates) sexual misadventures to go-getter Brad's (Judge Reinhold) quick career in the world of fast food to the unforgettable Spicoli (Sean Penn) as the ultimate surfer dude. Add appearances by Nicolas Cage, Anthony Edwards, Forest Whitaker and Ray Walston and you have an unbeatable cast. With all this talent behind it, no wonder Fast Times at Ridgemont High is as honest, fresh and funny as it was a generation ago.

Really funny. - moviegenius
When I first heard about Fast Times At Ridgemont High, I thought that I would never see it. However, I read a movie book where they talked about it and I said, ``Maybe I'll see it sometime.'' Then, a few years later, I saw it. It was really funny. Sean Penn stole the movie. He wasn't some really intelligent guy who was involved in politics. He was an idiot, but a really funny idiot. Pretty much every line he utters has some sort of stupid laugh that makes the audience laugh because it's so utterly ridiculous. The ending I thought was really funny. Another thing I found fun was that at the end of the movie (when they're showing the credits), it says Nicholas Coppola. Any idea who that is? It's Nicholas Cage! It was before he changed it to Nicholas Cage. Also, Forest Whitaker is in it. He plays a football player that has his beautiful car trashed by Sean Penn. He doesn't speak much. He just says one sentence and growls a lot. That's it. No big, Oscar winnning performance. Fast Times At Ridgemont High is not my favourite teen comedy, but Sean Penn is pretty hysterical. I think this is something that you readers should check out.Like a fine wine......it just keeps getting better! - Cine
Some movies stand the test of time. This fave does just that and even more....in fact it seems to keep getting better. It is required viewing for die hards every year or two. If only to remember how it should be done. Sean Penn is a huge force here. Other future stars such as Jennifer Jason Leigh, Forest Whitaker, Phoebe Cates and Judge Reinhold show us their stuff.....literally. One of the first of it's genre to come around and it is still really funny and a great entertainment value. The music is fine and yes, the famous Phoebe Cates pool scene is here....in all it's unadulterated glory....waiting for your approval/disapproval. If you haven't seen the film for awhile, perhaps it is time. Ziplist your copy today.Crowe Style - FilmJunkie
This movie proves why Cameron Crowe is the master of talk and characters to love.
Sean Penn walks, no stumbles, away with the movie as Jeff Spicoli. His stoner king has never been equaled, and he presented a hero for those huddled, high masses.
Jennifer Jason Leigh and Phoebe Cates are great as those girls we all wanted to be in highschool, but they also prove that life wasn't even easy for those girls (damn you Damone!)
Oh, and the Judge...yes you, Reinhold. He pulls off one of the most famous scenes in film history. You know the one, in the bathroom, Cates walks out of the pool...yadda yadda yadda. Classic in its painful hilarity.
I love this movie and it never gets boring, not even if it tried.
