Fathers' Day
All she said was "My son is yours." Unfortunately, she said it to both of them.
Jack Lawrence (Billy Crystal) is a lawyer, the kind always ready to help you get what's coming to him. Dale Putley (Robin Williams) is a shambles, a minor writer and major goofball. They have nothing in common - until they team to track down a runaway teen each believes might be his son.
Fathers' Day is "the mother of all comedy events" (Pat Collins, WWOR-TV), pairing two of the funniest on the planet and directed by Ivan Reitman. Crystal quips and Williams connips as they bicker, bond..and plunge deep into the uncharted neighborhood called parenthood. In this neighborhood, there's a laugh around every corner.

I am a big fan of Billy Crystal and a small fan of Robin Williams and they both do a good job acting together in this film. I think Billy Crystal is the highlight of this film. He has a dead-pan way of delivering some of his lines and he is really funny to watch. And when he is not delivering laughs, he is a very fine actor.
The plot stretches credibility at times, but overall it is an entertaining film. It was nice to see Reno, Nevada in a film (as oppossed to Vegas). But of course, there are a couple of vomit scenes in this film. Why do so many contemporary films have to have a vomit scene? I think they are supposed to be funny, but they are really disgusting and I have developed a knack for getting to the fast forward button just as these scenes appear. Sheesh! Enough already!!Cute comedy - Poet
I am a fan of both Robin Williams and Billy Crystal. Their track records are not perfect, but they have both done some good stuff over the years.
In Father's Day, they team up in a cute buddy comedy. Some jokes do kind of fall flat, some stuff is cheesy; yet, they managed to make the ensemble come off as cute and funny. There definitely is some funny bits in this one.
Recommended for fans of the actors involved.
