In love and life, one decision can change your whole world.
Dianne Parker (Kimberly Williams) meets and marries the handsome and charismatic Mark McCune (Eric Close), never noticing the quiet attention of his brother, David (Campbell Scott), a soft spoken pediatrician. Their marriage seems perfect until the birth of their daughter, Julia, a baby with genetic abnormalities. Mark, who can't face the idea of a less-than-perfect child, walks out, leaving Dianne to confront the challenges of being a single mom.
As the years pass, Dianne and her mother, Hannah (Blair Brown), remain selflessly devoted to Julia. David introduces Dianne to a young girl (Alexa Vega) from a troubled home as a "mother's helper," and things begin to change. Julia gains a best friend and Dianne finds renewed strength and hope, but David must wait patiently for a chance to reveal his true feelings. In the process, Dianne learns that love is more than what you feel for someone - it's what you're willing to give of yourself.

Sweet Movie. Kimberly Williams plays a wife who is convinced that having her physically challenged daughter is the right thing to do... and while her husband doesn't see it that way they go their separate ways. This movie shows a mothers challenge for raising her her daughter and has a happy ending.
This movie was great, if you like the hallmark & lifetime movies... this is a must see.Enjoyed this Movie! - Whirlwind
Kimberly Williams was good in this and it is a chick flick, some sad parts, but the good sense of the star comes through in the end when she has to decide for her and her daughter as to their future. The young actress playing the "mother's helper" contributes to this as she is in a difficult situation herself. This is definitely a Hallmark movie with reasonable and sound thinking coming through and teaching of valuable lessons by the end of the movie. There's a part with a puppy that might be harder for younger children but older children can learn a lot from this movie. We all can!
