Fright
Teenage babysitter Amanda (Susan George of Straw Dogs) arrives at the Lloyd home to watch their young son for the evening. But it seems that the strangely nervous Mrs. Lloyd (Honor Blackman, 'Pussy Galore' of Goldfinger) is hiding a shocking secret ...a secret that has just escaped from a nearby insane asylum and is now desperately trying to get inside the house. What depraved desires must Amanda endure to survive the ultimate night of fright?
In the genre of "virginal babysitter vs. homicidal maniac" films, Fright truly stands alone. Director Peter Collinson (Straight On Till Morning, The Italian Job) and screenwriter Tudor Gates (Twins of Evil, Lust for a Vampire) deliver a shocker full of creepy style, wild scares, and some very nasty surprises. Dennis Waterman (Scars of Dracula) and Ian Bannen (Flight of the Phoenix) co-star in this classic 1971 chiller, now presented in a new widescreen transfer from original British vault elements.

As British as they come but not too original - Coconut_Willy
I guess there can never be enough movies about the extremely dangerous and heroic job of baby-sitter... We all know the setup by now. This one is certainly not very different from the rest although it does add an interesting psychological twist to the often told story. As a horror movie, it is very tame with little violence and not much special effects. So, the storyline is OK, the cast is pretty good doing a good acting job, good dialogue, great sets and locations and pretty good camera work. If you like British film making, this one is for you; very typical of the era.
The transfer to DVD is of quite good quality considering the age of this movie; a pleasant surprise.pretty good - mritt
This is a pretty good horror British horror-thriller. While the cover, the description and some of the action lends itself to the horror genre this is not Halloween. The film is more of a thriller in the vein of Wait Until Dark. However the latter portion of the film changes directions and it becomes a sort of police procedural killing most of the suspense created by the first two-thirds.
