Get On The Bus
Once again, Spike Lee goes where no other filmmaker dares, straight into the fascinating controversy of Louis Farrakhan's Million Man March and the larger question of what it means to be a black man in modern America. A riveting film, Get On The Bus follows a group of different men traveling from Los Angeles to the march in Washington, D.C. On the way, they will make friends, make enemies and make history. Lee's incredible cast includes Charles S. Dutton as the inspiring driver of the bus, Andre Braugher as a rage-filled actor, Isaiah Washington as an iconoclastic gay Republican and the revered Ossie Davis as Jeremiah, the spiritual leader of the men.

Set during the Million Man March, Spike's awesome storytelling and dialogue make for an engaging film. Spike has a natural ability to develop characters through dialogue, not action (typically vice-versa). Spike's versatile camera movement almost makes the viewers forget they are on the bus ride and draws them into the conversation.Remarkable surprise - runaway
Thoroughly enjoyed this movie. Not surprised at Spike's ability to craft a good story (with some interesting symbolism), but surprised at how this film flew under the radar. What a fascinating picture into the variety of modern black perspectives. Highly enjoyable with great performances.
