Girl With Green Eyes
"Flawless, brilliant and beautiful. A gem!" -Judith Crist, The New York Herald Tribune
He barely noticed her the first time they met but with one glance, this naive Irish farm girl drew him to her side. She's not beautiful, not sophisticated, and far too young for a man of his years, but she has torn him from his solitude and set his soul on fire. Yet now, even as she moves into his Dublin home and he commits to her, he knows he can never fulfill her girlish notions of love nor satisfy the yearning in those haunting, hungry eyes.

Rita Tushingham shines - ktscarlett
This is a great example of the kind of small film coming out of Britain in the 60s -- great grainy B&W film stock and camera work, cinema verite feel to the whole thing. Peter Finch is, as always, Peter Finch. And Lynn Redgrave is great, looks like she's about five years old. But Rita Tushingham is the star, here, no doubt, turning in a very sensitive and nuanced performance at age 23. Edna O'Brien's adapation of her own novel is superb. Must see for fans of British new wave films.
