Great Wacky Western Comedies
Classic Westerns were never quite like this... 3 Great Movies!
The Old West was never this wild, pardner! Stroll through the swinging doors, order up your favorite libation and watch all the wacky action as Hollywood rewrites the rules of the classic Western. Even a tough-as-leather rustler will howl like a coyote at these comedy classics. It's a showdown of comic cowboys, silly saloon girls and goofy gunslingers that'll keep you laughing way past High Noon.
The Wackiest Wagon Train in the West:
Seven passengers - from an aspiring showgirl to some snooty Bostonians - are heading across the prairies on their way to a new life. They're counting on adventure, but what they didn't bargain for is a bumbling, stumbling wagon master who turns their trek into a cross-country comedy of errors! Stars Bob Denver and Forrest Tucker.
Fair Play:
In the little town of Fair Play, Texas, a young boy is visiting his uncle, who runs the local saloon and hotel. The place is a haven for outlaws, but when the two of 'em try and take advantage of some bad blood between the uncle and the villainous Purvis, watch out - things are about to get explosive.
The Terror of Tiny Town:
It's the world's only Western featuring an all-midget cast. Hang on to your hats as the good townspeople of Tiny Town saddle up their Shetland ponies and take on the evil gunslinger who's been terrorizing them.

This dvd contains a warning that says that due to the fragile source tape, continuity and quality are not up to today's standards. Translated, this means that they schlurped these videos off of whatever tape they could get their hands on and released it as cheaply as possible on this budget dvd set.
Not that anyone who will actually rent this dvd will care. This dvd appeals to people who appreciate truly bizarre B-movies.
The main selling point for me was the Terror of Tiny Town, which is billed as the world's only all-midget cast. A detailed overview of the plot is unnecessary, as the only thing that disguishes this from any other B-western is that the people are short. There are plenty of midget gags that make this movie enjoyable enough to spend 63 minutes of your life on.
The Wackiest Wagon Train in the West is really just three episodes of Dusty's Trail strung together to make a full length movie. Bob Denver stars as Dusty and manages to make Dusty exactly like his more famous role as Gilligan. While this was film was definitely no award winner, fans of B-movie cheese will be able to enjoy Gilligan being attacked by a man in a bear suit, dressing up as an indian in order to save his friends, and dressing up as a girl to save his friends.
Unfortunately, I decided to skip the final movie, Fair Play. The reviews I read of it recommended avoiding it like the plague. I took their advice. I can only take so many "Wacky Westerns" in one sitting.
