Americanized Depardieu - Anka
This movie shows that Depardieu can play every role. Usually he does not play sweet characters. In this movie even his not so innocent past looks like a very minor transgression. It is fun to watch how this ugly brick of a man can all of the sudden turn irresistibly attractive. All together the movie is too sweet and a touch boring.Green Card - TheWiz
This is a feel good romantic comedy. Plot is simple; both protaginists have a need and agree to fake a marriage to get what they want. Now the fun starts. Many moments in the film including cinematography are definately from the 80's and may not be everyone's cup of tea. You can pretty well predict every movment before ti happens. What makes this film work is McDowell's 'girl next door' appeal and the amazing (but not so amazing in this flick) Depardieu. If you speak French, check out Depardieu in 'Tais Toi' and you'll see him at his best. Conclusion: 80's flick that is good clean family fun.Fun Romantic Comedy. - 1writer
Andie MacDowell (Bronte Mitchell) and Gerard Depardieu (Georges Faure) are the perfect odd couple in this cute and clever romantic comedy.
Georges is looking for a green card to stay in the United States and Bronte aspires to have a special apartment with a greenhouse (that is only rented to married couples). The two enter into a marriage of convenience to change both of their circumstance. What starts as awkward and mismatched turns to love as time goes on. Watch the movie to find out what happens!
