Groundhog Day
"A romantic comedy fantasy that is Bill Murray's best screen performance." -Gene Shalit, NBC Today Show
Bill Murray at his wry, wisecracking best in this riotous romantic comedy about a weatherman caught in a personal time warp on the worst day of his life.
Teamed with a relentlessly cheerful producer (Andie MacDowell) and a smart-aleck cameraman (Chris Elliott), TV weatherman Phil Connors (Bill Murray) is sent to Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, to cover the annual Groundhog Day festivities. After a surprise blizzard traps him in small-town hell, things get even worse; Phil wakes the next morning to find it's Groundhog Day all over again... and again... and again.

Bill Murray is certainly at his best in this film. You can watch this film over-and-over again, just like the theme of the movie is, where Phil has to live the same day over-and-over again.
It's a great love story and shows how situations can turn someone around in this world. Hilarious movie from top-to-bottom and I would recommend this movie to anyone in a heartbeat, even if romantic comedies isn't your preferred genre of film. I can't praise this movie enough on how great it is, so please watch it and enjoy every second of it!!!Groundhog Day - djfunkybob
This film ranks top among all the great comedies that Ramis and Murray made (yes, even Caddyshack). The movie can be viewed over countless times with equal enjoyment and you can pick up new snippets of dialogue and other small nuances with each viewing. The concept of reliving the same day over and over is solid in its own respect, but to make that happen on such an inconspicuous “holiday” is genius. February 2nd now holds this indelible bond with its namesake film. It’s endless amusement watching Phil Connors (played by Murray and not to be confused with the star groundhog, Punxsutawney Phil) get caught up in so much small-town craziness as he relives the day over and over. None of Phil’s encounters are as memorable as when he runs into former classmate turned insurance salesman Ned Ryerson. Bing! This Movie Really Grows On You - Bigmoviefan
The first time I saw this movie, I liked it, but nothing more. Interesting concept.
I have since had the opportunity to watch it two more times, and I liked it more each time. I would recommend this movie highly as both a great comedy and a lovely romance.
The metamorphosis of Bill Murray's character is totally believable. The stages that he went through in adjusting to the situation that he found himself in are well scripted. By the end of the movie, the audience buys into the romance that developed between the two principals. Which woman would not love a talented, considerate, altruistic man who understands and adores her?
