If you're over 19, you won't get anything out of this movie. It's a great way to waste 2 hours on watching stereotypes. What message, if any they were trying to convey is lost on most viewers I think. In this case you certainly cannot judge a book by it's cover.Fantastic! - Roger411
I LOVE this movie! this movie has a lot of messages in it and what was going on in the 80's and early 90's is still going on today and even has gotten worse. This movie sits in the same category as Boyz in THe Hood. The character that was best played and has the biggest message is the one Michael Rappaport plays. Youcan tell he's gonna snap and what bullying can do to a person. Reminds me of the young highschool and college shootings that still are happening to this day. It also shows how young minds are easily influenced by others. Some by other students, some by teachers, some by friends. I love movies that make you think afterwards and reflect and wonder 'if only the world was different' and actually think about what we are doing to ourselves. Love it, very well written, acted and directed.I Didn't Get This One - Hobgoblin
Some really great acting and rich characters that kept me interested. But I didn't get the big picture. The premise as I interpreted it is there is a big race war going on of which college campuses are but a microcosm. Resultant campus shootings are a normal event, just a challenge (even when your own girlfriend gets killed) is just a challenge you need to face as part of "progress."
If this is what life is like in the US I'm sure glad I'm Canadian.
I'm not sure if I'd recommend this one.
