Absurdly Terrific Woody - xYJx
This film is more Sleeper than Annie Hall. Don't expect the heavyness of Interiors, September or Husbands and Wives. Think Bananas, Sleeper and to a lesser extent, Love and Death. This film chock full of weird situations, comic ingenuity and tons of heart.Classic Woody - AandW
This film is pretty entertaining. Woody Allen is his usual self and Tea Leoni shines. Woody plays a director who is hired to make a movie with his ex-wife and her new fiancee. He is so stressed that he goes blind. He tries to direct the movie blind with the help of the camera man's translator. This works until the translator is fired...Pleasure turns to pain - WriterGeek
I found most of the first 30 minutes enjoyable - vintage Woody - but then the first 30 minutes repeated itself over and over never building or improving. Debra Messing was just annoying, and the whole plot about being blind doesn't go anywhere (although the basic premise is funny). I've been avoiding his movies for several years and now I know why. I don't think I will ever watch another Woody Allen movie. Not bottom of the barral bad - but turn it off after the first 30 minutes and you may be satisfied.
