Hot Pursuit

What would you do to share a sun-splashed week in the Caribbean with someone special? Battle a pirate?... A Hurricane?... A hijacking goon squad? Prep-schooler Dan Bartlett (John Cusack) does all that and more when he takes off in Hot Pursuit of his island-bound girlfriend. Although he's better prepared for the S.A.T. than jungle warfare, Dan summons up some everyman moxie, saves the day (and his neck) and takes you along every riotous step of the way! Also featuring Ben Stiller in his movie debut.

I like John Cusack. I like him a lot. "Gross Pointe Blanke" is on my 'Top Fifty Favourite Movies of All Time' List. "High Fidelity" is awesome. "Say Anything", "The Sure Thing", "Being John Malkovich" - all worth watching. This? Not so much. It wasn't particularly funny, nor amusing, nor even worth a chuckle or two. It was trite and rather forced. Cusack was Cusack, but the actors seemed in pain a great deal of the movie. Robert Loggia and the Stiller's should be held chiefly responsible, as Loggia has always been annoyingly painful to watch and always has been and the Daddy and Son Stiller are talentlessly unfunny and have never gotten any better. It was murky and had all the charm of being slapped across the face with a wet towel. If you're very boring yourself, or a fan of Adam Sandler and his lack of talent, you will probably like this. If you prefer Cusack in something *good*, look elsewhere.fun movie - merlin234
'Mr. Determined' tries valiantly to catch up with his girlfriend and her family gone off on vacation and goes through some wacky hilarious events to get to her. In true Cusack style, he's an adorable every day kind of guy whose heroics save the day and you want to root for him.
I haven't seen this in years but it was still enjoyable and funny. And if you're a Cusack fan you'll remember why he grabbed your heart earlier in his careerHot Pursuit - RxWiz
John Cusack is one of my favourite actors, and while he was a bit younger in this movie, it's still easy to see what's so charming about him. He plays Dan - a typical young man who's in love and ready to do whatever it takes to be with his girlfriend.Ben Stiller does a great job in his movie intro too, along with his dad Jerry Stiller. A totally enjoyable waste of time, this movie is funny & entertaining. Some rough language may detract from the enjoyment for a few people, but overall it's worth the time to watch.
