The trick with this movie is to watch everything from the foreground to the background and it's guaranteed laughter from start to finish :)
A good movie culture of the 90's is also a big helpl to catch on all the inside jokes and parodies ;P
But, what a great time I had watching it again, remembering the platinum age of comedy back what it was more than stupid baser jokes and rude words...
Want to laugh? Here's the remedy you're looking for! (the first fifteen minutes alone will get you in stitches more than once :)One of the best all time comedies - Wizard
All I wanted or expected was to laugh... and I did that... a lot! This is up there with the best parody movies like Airplane and Top Secret. This movie pokes fun at movies that deserve to be made fun of: Rambo, Apocolypse Now, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, or any P.O.W. rescue film. This is just good fun.Hot Shots Double Whammy! - Microbefox
Looking back on this movie made one realized that sometimes not fully getting the jokes at a young age is okay. Let's get get the well known question out of the way. Yes, this film is much more funny than the first, but we must thank the first film for the introdution to this world that is Hot Shots.
The premise simple. Hot Shots Part Deux, is about Topper Harley a now retired pilot for the U.S. Airforce. The U.S. Army do their best to yank him out of retirement to help rescue the men who went to get the men to get the men out (If that is a mist quote I apologize in advance) of Iraq. The film plays alot visually and at times there are scenes where the background and foreground action seems more intriquing than the middle. It is hard to wrtie a review for a movie of this kind, because the film cannot be taken seriously. All the slapstick, verbal and implied humour is what makes this movie one of the funniest movies this reviewer has seen.
