I Love You To Death
Based on a true story...
Academy Award Winner Kevin Kline (1998 Best Actor in a Supporting Role - A Fish Called Wanda), Tracey Ullman, Academy Award Winner William Hurt (1985 Best Actor in a Leading Role - Kiss of the Spider Woman), River Phoenix, Academy Award Winner Joan Plowright (1992 Best Actress in a Supporting Role - Enchanting April) and Keanu Reeves star in this bawdy comedy based on the true story of a woman who tried to kill her husband... four times!
Comedienne Tracey Ullman is Rosalie Boca, the devoted wife of a philandering pizza maker (Kline). When Rosalie learns that he's been squeezing more than just tomatoes, her homicidal instincts take over.
With the help of a New Age busboy (Phoenix), drug-addled cousins Harlan and Marlon (Hurt and Reeves), and her own mother (Plowright), Rosalie attempts to send Joey to that big bed in the sky. But love ultimately triumphs in this stranger-than-fiction comedy from the director of The Big Chill and The Accidental Tourist.

Still funny - M.O.D
Oh man, I still laughed at this movie. I had seen it a long time ago and rented it so the wife could get a good laugh. Kevin Kline is always funny (with the exception of Dave...sorry Kevin) and it was nice to see River Phoenix back on the screen. Keanu Reeves and William Hurt were also casting gold as a couple of nitwit, stoner hitmen. I have to recommend this for the fact that it is damn funny and plus that it is based on a true story. Who knew?Pretty Funny - Maddog
Years ago I saw this as a premier in the theatre and recently rerented it and although it is a little dated it is Kevin Cline in one of his funnier roles. Hurt and Phoenix are pretty funny as the "hitmen". All in all it is worth seeing. I don't know if I would add this one to my collection (actually I wouldn't) simply because the humour is worth a watch but not repeatedly. Anyway give it a peak and hope you enjoy.HA HA! - judith_butler
Goofy, completely implausible fluff, but so fun. I think what makes it great is that the characters are all so quirky. There are many ludicrous "laugh out loud" moments. Kevin Cline is delightfully obtuse, Hurt and Reeves are adorably stupid and the women are a strange combination of tender and cruel. Watch this one when you are pining for new episodes of Ally McBeal.
