I Spy
Espionage with Attitude
Superstar Eddie Murphy (The Nutty Professor) teams up with Owen Wilson (Zoolander, Behind Enemy Lines) for a hilarious, action packed thrill ride. Famke Janssen (X-Men, GoldenEye) also stars as an ultra sexy secret agent.
A super powerful experimental spy plane is stolen by an evil arms dealer and is about to be handed over to an international terrorist. The U.S. Government drafts an egotistical boxing star (Murphy) to join a suave special agent (Wilson) on a dangerous top secret mission to get the plane back. Armed with the latest high tech gadgets and a whole lot of attitude, this ultimate odd couple might be able to save the world- if they can just get along.

Not sure what the joke with the name is, I am no native English speaker, neither did I see the original '70 or sometime whenever it was.
Taking along as it is, it does offer some laughs; mostly from the obnoxious character Eddie Murphy played. Combination of MI-style intrigue and humour.I SPY SOME LAUGHS - StEpHuLAr
Let me get this out of the way: I never saw the TV show. To me, this was just another movie. If you take it for what it is, it's enjoyable. Owen Wilson and Eddie Murphy team up here, and like so many others before them (Gibson/Glover, Chan/Tucker, etc..) the unusual pairing is good for lots of laughs. The "Sexual Healing" scene alone should have you doubled up laughing up a storm.
Good action sequences, a few moments that are over the top, but then again, don't all action/buddy movies feature them ? A fun ride, decent laughs and great movie.
RATING: 9/10
