Along with her roommate, Joe, she swears to jump from the Brooklyn Bridge if she doesn't find love by age 30.

A seemingly dark plot line is suprisingly (and delightful) in this light-hearted film. Two friends, Joe and Lucy, decide to challenge themselves to keep a promise made in their college years: to kill themselves if they are not both in a successful relationship by the time Lucy turns 30. This movie takes a unlikely device and makes it seem possible and introduces characters who are easy to care about and believe in. This film has great performances. The theme is a common movie theme of happiness and is often right under your nose, but it is handled in a unusual way. All around this movie is fun.sarah's old lady hands... - pigtails_in_montreal
Well, this movie is quite lovely to watch as a saturday afternoon TV flick. I wish my choice had been more discernable whilst selecting my movies. Sarah's performance is a tad rough but this is 1996, prior to Sex and the City. It was nice to see Scarlett Johanssen as a child. Dominic Chianessi from The Sopranos is interestingly in a wheelchair. These are are all good reasons to rent this movie.
