IMAX: Galapagos
Explore a world full of Mystery and Wonder
Descend 3,000 feet to an area of the ocean floor never before seen by humankind. The mission: collect rare and unusual species for study at the Smithsonian and elsewhere- all part of a real life exploration that will discover what is believed to be more than a dozen new species of life.
Shot on the famed archipelago and in its surrounding waters, Galapagos follows marine biologist Dr. Carole Baldwin as she makes her initial venture into that world first chronicled for science 160 years earlier by Charles Darwin. The tools for Baldwin's team are far different than anything Darwin used, yet one thing is unchanged. The Galapagos Islands remain a stunningly abundant laboratory for exploration.

Disappointed - Indi
This movie clip - 39 minutes is hardly a movie - describes so little about the evolution of the Galapagos Islands, their flora, or their fauna that it is a waste of time to watch. I didn't actually notice the length before ordering but was so disappointed by the content regardless of the length. Why show a biologist scooping one-of-a-kind marine life off the ocean floor? That is so opposite to the regulations surrounding the preservation of these magnificent species and tells others they can go ahead and do the same. Shame on you National GeographicHuge IMAX disappointment - mxg123
I got this movie hoping to enjoy it fully on my new 58” hdtv, but was I ever disappointed from the initial start of this dvd. It came up as a 480 image, with two huge black bars on the right and the left. I had to use the option on my TV to expand the image fully over the screen, thus stretching all the images, which did make some creatures look funnily expanded, including its female hostess. A total disappointment, and being under 40 mins, a total waste of zip credits.Beautiful scenery - indie
Galapagos was a scenically beautiful movie. The information on the wildlife was interesting, but the female scientist's frantic preoccupation with collecting specimens for research was in stark contrast to the natural world around her. I thought the focus on Darwin, scientific research and the Hollywood superficiality was out of proportion to the real beauty of the Galapagos.
