Yuck! - upwitharts
I love Neil Jordan, and with a cast like Annette Bening and Robert Downey, Jr., what could go wrong? I cannot overemphasize what a really unpleasant and yucky film this is, beginning with a child's death. I don't have kids and I was disturbed by how this was handled. And it goes south from there. Very ham-handed (and strange but not good strange) writing. There are so many good suspense films out there, give it a pass.A Broken Mirror - Megasteakman
I didn't know much going in to this film, but I'm glad I picked it up. Some solid performances and great visuals told this strange tale, which is vaguely reminiscent of a ghost story. I personally liked the roughness of the scene transitions: it really gave that fragmented sense of time that demonstrated an effective feeling of insanity. The story was dealt with in a unique and interesting style: while a few segments felt a little weak, more often than not I was fairly impressed. While not the best horror film of it's type, it is more than worth the watch!
