There is something about summer camp movies that I love. And this is doubly awesome, it is a RETURN to summer camp movie. Not only that, it stars Alan Arkin as the camp director and Diane Lane, Bill Paxton, Elizabeth Perkins and Kevin Pollack (among others) as the returning campers.
The plot is kind of silly, these campers are returning to camp for one last goodbye before it shuts its doors. But the actors gel really well and it is fun watching them look back on their memories.
I was really obsessed with this movie when I was a kid, mostly because of Pollack as the uptight nerd who gets picked on, and because of the power of sexy emanating from Paxton.
It is a pretty good reunion movie. Worth a watch and a laugh.Summer Camp in Canada - Drudey
The Big Chill goes to camp! A strong ensemble cast pulls off a feelgood performance in Indian Summer. Set at Camp Tamawkwa in Algonquin Park. If you've ever felt nostalgic for the camp you attended back in the '70's this is a movie for you. The former campers arrive with a full load of baggage (adult and memory). Sort a few things out , have some fun, pull some pranks and go home happier. Just like camp's supposed to be!Oh the memories - Willy1
This is one of the greatest movies! It is so heartwarming - you will be laughing one minute and crying the next! I've seen this movie numerous times and love it more and more. This is really for any age (Tho -I don't think little kids would appreciate it) but brings back old memories of my High School - what a fun movie. This movie is great for your library and for your heart. One great movie!
