Not as good as the cartoon - Ilythya
Hubby and I were bored out of our minds. The talking car was ridiculously over the top. Too much 'set up' for sequels, and not enough actual plotline. My kids (4 and 6) thought it was funny, but they looooove the cartoon and they do not have what I would call good judgement when it comes to movies.
Evil Inspector Gadget robot was about the most entertaining thing in the movie, and that's not saying much.why is this rated 14? - kollmi
I was did not see the original Inspector Gadget when I was a kid, so nostalgia did not help to smooth over this very silly movie.
Even the kids found it childish.
The only really good thing about it was rupert everett.
I am totally not sure who was the target audiance for this movie, but in our family no-one was.Semi-loyal to the cartoon classic - bUgs1
I was a big fan of the original Inspector Gadget back when I was a kid. This movie isn't too bad an attempt at bringing the essence of the show to the big, special effect laden, screen, though loyalists might be miffed at a few of the liberties taken. Still a fun and SHORT film that will lease any audience that isn't too demanding. Enjoy!
