Inspector Morse: Greeks Bearing Gifts
As Seen On A&E And PBS Mystery!
When the chef at Sergeant Lewis's favourite Greek restaurant is found dead and a baby goes missing, the Greek community in Oxford closes ranks. As Morse and Lewis try to unravel the complicated case, they get little co-operation from the tightly knit community. Morse feels more at home with Oxford's other Greek connection, the classical scholars and discovers that there could be a link between the two worlds. Several of the people with a motive for the crime attended an event involving ancient Greek ships the previous summer.

For the most part, I do like Morse. But it is very formulaic and for some reason this one in particular made me feel very bored. Some are definitely better than others, but I have to say I beginning to tire and this one I would not recommend to a first timer. Try some of the others though before you make your final judgement, as they vary greatly.Greeks and Gods - Woody2
This is another in the long and popular Inspector Morse series. Morse died some time ago, and his Sergeant has gone on to make a new series. Some of the episodes can seem a bit dated, but the series did start in the '80s. Morse is played by John Thaw- a brilliant piece of casting. The scripts, based on Colin Dexter's books are excellent. The plots are well thought out, characters finely drawn and the series remain mentally satisfying.
