White Christmas
White Christmas is a treasury of Irving Berlin classics, among them "Count Your Blessings Instead of Sheep," "Sisters," "Blue Skies," and the beloved holiday song, "White Christmas." Two talented song-and-dance men (Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye) team up after the war to become one of the hottest acts in show business. One winter, they join forces with a sister act (Rosemary Clooney and Vera-Ellen) and trek to Vermont for a white Christmas. Of course, there's the requisite fun with the ladies, but the real adventure starts when Crosby & Kaye discover that the inn is run by their old army general who's now in financial trouble. And the result is the stuff dreams are made of.

So, this didn't get shipped to me until after christmas. That's generally my luck for seasonal movies. The demand clears up the week after and you gotta be quick re-arranging your list. But I digress...
It was nice to extend the holiday season with this classic. I love the feel, it takes me back to pre-HD television.Big Talent behind this Christmas Classic - Darkside
If you are one to be impressed by fantastic dancing and phenomenal crooners, this movie is for you! This is a typical 50's movie musical, but many of the song and dance numbers rise above others of the time. Vera-Ellen's dance performances are not to be missed. The plot of the movie is very sweet, with all of the characters showing their strong moral standings. I strongly recommend watching with the commentary by Rosemary Clooney if you are a long time lover of this film. She gives some wonderful behind-the-scenes information that is a gem for big fans. A movie for all ages, if you like musicals you won't be disappointed!A Christmas classic but also an all-around good movie - TVJacks
Okay, so everybody has heard of White Christmas and everybody knows it's a classic, but here's what you might not know -- it's a genuinely good movie. The plot is interesting, the musical numbers are brilliantly staged, the characters are complex and funny, and the "issues" are easy to relate to even today. And of course it has a happy ending against a gorgeous backdrop of falling snow. Sigh.
