Jabberwocky
A Medieval Misadventure!
Gadzooks! These be terrible times in the kingdom of Bruno the Questionable! At the darkest hour of the Dark Ages (hey, who turned off the lights?), the dreaded Jabberwock roams the land. His eyes aflame, his talons bared -- a bone-crushing horror!
Which brave knight shall slay the beast and save the kingdom? Who shall win the hand of the fair princess? Could it be Dennis the Apprentice (Michael Palin), a mere dolt and silly fool who carries a potato and loves the fat Griselda?
Shall he save the kingdom? Or will he be smitten with chamberpots and made to eat rats on a stick? Arrgh!

An Interesting Transitional Movie - MacAskill
An early movie of Terry Gilliam, that owes a large debt to Holy Grail. It has its moments, and the cast features some classic English character actors. I'd seen it many years ago, and upon revisiting it, was reminded that it was good; but too familiar (to other Python efforts). Nevertheless, it is rich with Gilliam's visual imagination. Worth a visit, without expectations that are too high.Beware the Jabberwock, my son! - JuicyFruit
Okay, it's strange, everything's dirty or dusty or exceptionally dark and the weirdness is rampant- but it's great. Tim Burton has NOTHING on Terry Gilliam, the ORIGINAL weird guy LOL From the repulsive Mr. Fishfinger to the King's Champion who seems to have the intelligence of a gnat to King Bruno the Questionable who lives up to his title, the characters are bizarre and overall it's a very Pythonesque movie- but it definitely doen't have something that the whole group's films have in spades. Jabberwocky is fun for anyone who appreciates the humour of the Pythons, but do bear in mind it is just Terry Gilliam and Michael Palin so it's not quite the same...The Importance of Having a Turnip - whippinboy
This is a typical example of Python's innocent, perceptive humour. I love this story and Python's interpretation of it. my formative years were bent by Monty Python and as such had many a similar experience with my turnips. I only wish there were more Monty Python movies to go back and view over and over.
