Jack & Sarah
He needed a nanny...and he got so much more.
Richard E. Grant (Ready to Wear), Samantha Mathis (Broken Arrow), Dame Judi Dench (Shakespeare in Love) and Ian McKellen (Richard III) "are all top-notch" (Boxoffice) in this "fresh and genuine" (Entertainment Today) story about a family and love - it's a celebration of emotions that'll have you laughing and crying all at once!
In a split second Jack's (Grant) seemingly perfect world comes crashing down around him when his wife dies in childbirth. Suddenly faced with his tragic loss, and the demands of single parenthood to his baby girl, Sarah, Jack spontaneously hires a beautiful young American waitress named Amy (Mathis) as a nanny. But Amy, who is unqualified, inexperienced and unsuitable for the job, only complicates matters further when Jack finds himself falling for her! With his overprotective mother (Dench), drunkard housekeeper (McKellen) and romantically interested boss (Cherie Lunghi) all attempting to intervene, can this tidy British widower and his decidedly undomestic domestic find love against all the odds?

A very lame chick flick saved by its 'classic' actors and an adorable baby - demandingviewer
This is a very lame "chick flick" with good potential which went entirely unrealised. No believable characters among the lead actors and none of the romances "worked", in fact all the leas are all rather irritating. The film was (just barely) saved, however, by one adorable baby and by the performances of Judi Dench and especially Ian McKellen -- two treasures of the English stage and cinema. Otherwise give it a miss.A cute show. - Jagflynn
I would have given this show 4 stars, the problem was Samantha Mathis. The other actors in the show were incredible, very believable, whereas Samantha was very wooden. Richard Grant is a great actor, you really felt his pain, you could see him hurting. So like I said, I would have given it 4 stars if they had another female for the lead role.A nice & normal love story - Elby
This movie, although slow in parts, told a great story. I found it very "real" to watch "Jack's" transitions through the different stages of emotion a person would normally feel having gone through what he went through. I think the director did an excellent job making this a believable romance. I was pleasantly surprised to find the acting very well done and even the babies were great actresses!
