Sequel Doesn't Quite Match Up To Original - bwod
Any movie with Jet Li is a pleasure to watch, for his martial arts skills. With "The Legend 2", there is plenty of action, giving the star his shot in the limelight, but the story itself seems exceedingly drawn out, in order to create plenty of fight scenes. But the movie tends to drag a bit, and isn't as funny as the original film in this series. I give it one thumb up for the action, but you might want to fast forward through the dialogue.Jet Li returns as Fong Sai Yuk - Superdave
This series was intended to compete with Jackie Chan's Drunken Master movies and has many of the same elements, mixing spectacular martial arts action and occasional silly comedy. In this one, Fong sets out to steal a government document from the court and has the bright idea to romance the princess to gain access to the palace. Fong's mother-in-law tags along secretly to prevent any hanky panky, giving the film an odd domestic sit-com angle in amongst the fighting. A treat for fans of the genre.
