Killer Klowns From Outer Space
In Space No One Can Eat Ice Cream!
A spaceship - looking like a circus tent - lands in a field near a small town, signaling the attack of deviant, red-nosed, balloon-twisting psychos from another world who plan to annihilate mankind - by turning people into cotton candy! Luckily, the town's teen citizenry decides to fight back and teach the cosmic bozos a lesson. But these klowns are no klutzes, turning popcorn, peanuts and caramel corn into playful - but deadly - weapons of madcap destruction and mayhem!

More clever than laugh out loud funny - Superdave
Terrifying clown makeup, weird clowny homicides, an alien mother ship that looks like a circus tent: the creators of this movie got a lot of mileage out of their one visual motif. Unfortunately, the script was much less clever and is written with a tin ear for dialog; this is a fatal flaw for a comedy. I found myself at once interested in the visual landscape of the film - quite well done for its budget - and bored by the script and characters. This makes for an uneasy mix.

This is a horror sub-genre that is still popular today but I have seen enough such spoof movies that it would take a lot more than that to impress me. It is based on a clever enough idea and has some interesting development but, overall, it is rather idiotic with the use of easy jokes. The cast is mostly comprised of unknowns doing a fairly lame acting job with an average dialogue and very stereotypical characters. The sets and locations are quite good and inventive, the soundtrack is good enough and the camera work is professional. I was impressed with the overall package as the transfer to DVD is of good quality and the disc includes a lot of extras but the movie itself is pretty average. If you like the genre and are in the mood for something not too clever, this one is entertaining but not much more.Very impressive low budget film - XTRUClerk
Clowns are scary, everybody knows this. This film plays well on this idea. The clows in question are some kind of invading -- or just visiting -- aliens. The movie itself isn't really scary -- it's more likely to make you laugh than anything else. What I always liked about this film is how clever it is. The clowns especially make use of many... Clownish weapons that are very well thought out and ingenious, from baloon animals that come to life to cotton candy pistols that incase victims in sticky goo. A lot of people turn their nose up at this one but I think it's one of the most original films ever made in the horror/comedy genre. If you've never seen it have a look. The DVD is full of really enjoyable bonus material as well. Cheers.
