King Solomon's Mines
Based on H. Rider Haggard's celebrated novel, this "fast moving" (Screen International) action safari is "a very wicked jungle brew" (Chicago Tribune)! Starring Richard Chamberlain ("The Thorn Birds") and Oscar nominee Sharon Stone (Casino), King Solomon's Mines is truly "stirring entertainment" (Variety)!
Commissioned by the stunning Jessie Huston (Stone) to find her explorer father in Africa, rugged adventurer Allan Quatermain (Chamberlain) must contend with Nazis, cannibals, a jungle full of dangerous animals... and the wiles of the woman who hired! but as Allan and Jessie near the spot where here father was last seen - the legendary King Solomon's Mines - they encounter more danger... and breathtaking excitement... than even they had bargained for!

Fake and Fun - ShawnConnery
This movie was, as the plot synopsis above states, "too much, too fast, too deja vu." It was not the best acting, especially by Sharon Stone, the effects were cheesy, and there was a really fake feel to the whole movie. However, unlike some other members of my family, I kind of thought it was fun, and there was some pretty good adventure sequences, and it was laugh-out-loud funny more than once. Overall, if you wanna get a good adventure film, you can skip this one-get Indiana Jones or Sahara or something.entertaining throughout!! - musgrave
I recently made the mistake of renting the sequel to this movie before watching this one first. I was extrememly dissapointed, as the sequel pretty much sucks. But that did not deter me from re-visiting the original and I'm thankful. Adventure and fun throughout, it is a really fun movie. Lots of different characters and adventure along the way to find the mines. It's quite plainly fiction, but it's still fun!Cheesy, cheesy fun - Gaucho
If you are expecting a film that changes your perception of the world and yourself, rent something else.
If you want a well made picture, with logical continuity and believable characters, pass on this flick.
But if you want something so bad it's good, something LOL goofy that you find yourself quoting it to passing strangers, then select this film.
Richard Chamberlain is SO bad, so silly in this that you can't take your eyes off of him. Sharon Stone (a very YOUNG Sharon Stone) is a bit irritating, so she blends in well with the surroundings. Add in every racial stereotype you can think of and a soundtrack played on a casio and you have one of the best BAD movies of the eighties (alongside "Crimewave" and "The Barbarian Brothers').
