Kingpin
Roy Munson, a pro bowler who seems destined for greatness, or as close to greatness as a bowler can get. But after a run-in with angry competitors, Roy finds himself sadder, wiser and minus his bowling hand! Years later, he meets the naïve Ishmael and Amish bowling whiz. Together they set out for a million-dollar tournament in Reno, and along the way pick up Claudia, a sexy vixen with brains, attitude and really big...ideals. With her help, they make it to the tournament. But will Roy and Ishmael win the big match and score fame and fortune...or will all their hopes and dreams just go barreling down the gutter?

Turkey(thats a good thing in bowling right?) - ABC99
This movie made me laugh......a lot. Bad people hehaving badly is funny if handled right and Kingpin is willing to ake that extra step to get the joke right. The cast helps with Randy Quaid, Woody Harrelson and Bill Murray (a great villian), who are all great, striking the right tone throughout. An under rated comedy that deserves to be a cult classic.If you don't mind "Goofy" movies; this one is funny - TheShamus
The Farelly Brothers are known for "silly" movies such as "Dumb and Dumber" and "Shallow Hal". They are also known for the hit, "Something About Mary". This one is more like the humour in "Dumb and Dumber". If you are not interested in this type of humour, do not bother reading the rest of the review ... this is not your type of movie!
Bill Murray plays the "bad guy" bowler -- who ends the bowling career of Woody Harrelson's character (Munson). Munson finds a proetege he can shape into a world champion -- unfortunately, he is Amish ... and his religion does not allow for the lifestyle of a bowler.
The jokes are "goofy" -- lots of toilet humour, Amish jokes (milking the cow is a classic), with lots of physical comedy. There are not quite as many "gags" as "Dumb and Dumber" -- but it's pretty good.
The storyline actually has some surprises. I especially liked the way Bill Murray plays the bad guy (his clear bowling ball encases a red rose).
I like this kind of humour ... so I recommend the movie (keeping in mind, it is not for everyone). Hopefully there is enough information in this review to give you an idea if you will like it.

Woody Harrelson plays creepy and shady better than any actor out there, save maybe for that Donald Sutherland dude. And he does it with such flair! This was a funny movie. It delightfully lampoons everything in sight and at the end you are in stitches. It is irreverent, but it does not become so low brow that it reeks of American Pie-esque innapropriateness. There are some smart jokes, and Bill Murray and Randy Quaid are dead on hilarious.A great comedy.
