Lawrence Of Arabia
One of the most critically acclaimed and belove films of all time...
Director David Lean follows the heroic true life odyssey of T.E. Lawrence (Peter O'Toole) in this dramatic portrait of the famed British officer's journey to the Middle East.
Assigned to Arabia during World War I, Lawrence courageously unites the warring Arab factions into a strong guerrilla front and leads them to brilliant victories in treacherous desert battlefields where they eventually defeat the ruling Turkish empire.

Ahhhh, I get it!! - CEM1
After finally seeing this classic film I have stepped over into a world where I get more references, both filmatic and social, than I did before I saw it. "There's no gold in Acaba!".
What a wonderful film! I was captivated from beginning to end and was so impressed with cinemetography. Beatiful to look at. Wonderful story of adventure, as well as, a facinating study of a man confronting, owning and being consumed by his own personal strengths, weaknesses and demons.
Lawrence doesn't fit in nor feel at home anywhere but in the leadership of men on the field of battle. Superb performance be O'toole and I especially loved Sir Alex Guiness in the role of the King.Epic film - Spacey
I enjoyed this movie. I though the locations, acting, and premise of the movie was excellent.
There are parallels to what this movie deals with that we can see today, in our recent dealings with countries in the middle east and western interests in the area.
I though the acting done by Guinness, and O'Toole was excellent. I didn't recognize Guinness in his role as the king until the end of the movie. He was very convincing. I find O'Toole's character was complicated. I think that he was an officer stationed in exotic locales who was bored at his job, but also didn't have enough respect for war and fighting until he was thrust into scenarios which called for fighting or killing another person. O'Toole did well in showing the inner turmoil his character faced after taking a life, and it was done in a common way in that era of film making.
The cinematography was excellent during the battles and fighting scenes. The wide angled sweep shots as people race across the desert to their opponents or the sheer scale of the desert as we watch characters cross it was well done.
This was an excellent movie that you may need to break into a couple chunks of time to watch, or sit though the entire thing. It's doubtful you will regret it.Incredible accomplishment - Coconut_Willy
This is often billed as the greatest movie of all time and it might very well be. Made in the early '60s when there were no computer graphics or other sorts of trickery available, this is an epic tale of unbelievable proprortions. Big battle scenes literally involving hundreds if not thousands of men, horses, camels, the sheer scale of this undertaking is daunting. The storyline is a bit odd and often leaves the viewer confused by this complex main character but in the end, this is a marvelous experience. The cast is excellent doing a great acting job with a very well written dialogue and great characters. The sets and locations are as spectacular as it gets, the soundtrack is superb and the camera work is remarkable. If you have 4 hours to spend watching one of the greatest movies ever made, I don't think you will be disappointed. Highly recommended.
