"Two Hours Of Laughter!" - Bob Parker, CNN Headline News
Fast talking Rayford Gibson (Eddie Murphy) and the conservative Claude Banks (Martin Lawrence) are accidentally teamed up to become the funniest "odd couple" east of the Mississippi. In an effort to pay off Ray's debt and restore Claude's reputation, they travel south on a bootlegging run for some quick cash. There is no limit to their comical misfortune as they are placed at the scene of a crime and their mistaken identity lands them right in front of the judge.
This hysterical comedy gives a whole new meaning to friends for life.

I’d have to agree with Bob Parker on the two hours of laughter. This was a re-rent for me as it has been on TV broadcast numerous times this was my first time sitting down to watch it without interruption. If you didn’t like Eddie Murphy or Martin Lawrence this might not be a great one for you as both of their personalities shine through fully; otherwise this was hilarious.Interesting and humourous - Willy1
I entered Life with trepidation. While I'm willing to laugh about anything and everything, it would take something extremely funny for me to consider being imprisoned for sixty-five years amusing. Fortunately Life overcame my reservations, thanks to some nice directorial and plotting moves.
Both Murphy and Lawrence have great chemistry and pull off great performances, as do the supporting cast. While it is true that the make-up done to age Ray and Claude by Rick Baker is brilliant, credit should also be given to the two actors who manage to grow old extremely gracefully. The out-takes at the end are cool as well. Life is worth the matinee fare.
